مقدمه
رودخانه هاي آب شيرين يكي از مهمترين اكوسيستم هاي آبي به لحاظ تنوع زيستي و تامين آب شرب محسوب ميشوند از اين نظر شناخت و بررسي كمي و كيفي اين منابع آب از اركان مهم و اساسي توسعه پايدار است امروزه رويكرد پايش زيستي دراهداف ارزيابي كيفيت آب جايگاه ويژه اي پيدا كرده است پايش زيستي يك اصطلاح مشترك براي تكنيكهايي است كه با استفاده از موجودات زنده اطلاعاتي در مورد اجزاي جاندارو غيرجاندار محيط زيست فراهم مي كنند. يكي از وظايف مهم متوليان آب، بررسي پارامترهاي كيفي آب مي باشد. همه ساله با نمونه برداري و آزمايش آبهاي سطحي و زيرزميني، اطلاعات زيادي در خصوص پارامترهاي كيفي نظير pH ، دما، كدورت، جامدات معلق و ديگر پارامترها (متناسب با حوزه مورد بررسي) بدست مي آيد(3). با توجه به اينكه حجم اين قبيل داده ها زياد بوده و از طرفي ابزار مناسبي براي آگاهي جامعه غيرمتخصص از كيفيت آب مورد استفاده نيست، با استفاده از معادلات رياضي ويژه، داده هاي آماري جمع آوري شده مرتبط با چند پارامتر مهم با يكديگر ادغام شده و يك عدد بدون بعد در محدوده 1 تا 100 بدست مي آيد. اين شاخص بيانگر كيفيت آبهاي سطحي به عنوان منبع شرب، شنا، ماهيگيري و ديگر كاربري هاي مورد نياز انسان مي باشد
